Nothing exciting...just thought I would let ya'll know we are still here.
Christmas was good as always...I love getting together with family. Used to be that we just wanted to be together, at home, on Christmas, just our family, but the last two years we have left town and went to Grandma & papa's. I love it. I think it has something to do with the feelings of instability and unsettled-ness that we feel in our life...it is nice to come home and feel like nothing has changed and nothing ever will, al be it we know the truth....the only thing that is constant, is change.
Lottie, Les and the boys were here until today. I love being here when they are. The kids play, we talk, laugh and hang out. It was fun to go sledding at the pits east of the house and tow around on sleds behind the 4-wheeler...up and down the road....up and down....
Christmas day was cool-- 6 of the 9 siblings were here, along with all their families. Ali and Jared brought their BBQ down and rotisserie Prime Rib...due to my latest food allergy, I was only able to have a small bite of HHs, but let me tell you...all those trips to the bathroom were worth it! That is one thing that I love-- PRIME RIB with creamy horseradish.
Went to my parents for Christmas Breakfast...I had fruit and eggs-- but the main menu includes every year: Fried Osters, biscuits, sausage gravy, Chocolate Gravy (southern tradition), ham, bacon, sausage, Wassel, Fruit, eggs, and many misc dishes that others bring. Cousin Steph was there....says she is doing farely well....lives with alot of pain, on several high power drugs for the pain-- says she will take the addiction verses the pain-- she goes in for a PET scan this week to see what the progress is on the Chemo....hoping for good news.
10-12 inches of snow + no clean sidewalks + no scraped parking lot = no church today...which felt odd. Kind of leaves a void in my mind...I know I need that rejuvenation to get me through my week.
Sick story for ya: MALE patient of my moms has a fake fingernail specifically for the purpose of picking his nose. seriously....then he complains that he has a stuffing infected nose....
enough rambling, I guess I don't want to bore you stiff with what's on my mind.
Good night...don't let the bed bugs bite! (ten points to the person who can tell me the origin of that little saying...ready set go!)
