We had the most amazingly relaxing week eva...
No computer, No TV (except for 1 movie night at the cousins house), No telephone...yea we were JONES-in a bit...HH caved first when we got to my parents house on Thursday...
In respect for the privacy of those that I am totally and fully jealous of, I will not state at this point where we vacationed last week. BUT I will tell you some of the great and wonderful things we did...
We went to the town where HH and I lived after we got married--15 years ago-- poulation 547. HH has a cousin that lives in Arizona, but has a home in this small town where she grew up as well--. We stayed at her BEAUTIFUL little home. Fully furnished, even with GF Food-- although we resisted for the most part (had to try the Agave Nectar--I'm sold on it!-- thanks "Fatceliac").
- We arrived on Saturday pm-- with no agenda--really just wanted to play it all by ear.
- Sunday--We attended church, just in time for the primary program-- starring all 15+/- of thier children. We had dinner with cousins.
- Monday we played in the city park and went for a drive-- looked at the resevoir, we hiked up Mt. Borah (sounds like a great feat huh-- well I didn't say we went to the top-- I never even said if the parking lot was ever out of view--now did I?), drove around town-- didn't take long. Root beer floats that night with cousins.
- Tuesday we took 4-wheelers up the mountain to the south where there is a old, defunct mine. Let the children play in the snow. Forgot camera at the house--- shucks!
- Wednesday-- went back up the mine hill (in the van) to take pictures. I saw somethingCREAPY-- There was a big, HUGE, muddy wolf print on top of my son's prints in the snow from the day before--glad we didn't see any--although we heard them howling that night after the town rolled up the streets. We visitied with other cousins in town and then had a movie night, with pop corn and more Root beer floats.
WE napped everyday, HH read 4 books, I caved and read the 1st book in the Twilight series (waste of time--although, now I have to read them all), we slept in, stayed up late, and we dreamed of how nice it would be to live in this sleepy little town that was as still and peaceful as one could ever imagine...
Then on Thursday we drove a few hours to my parents house for Thanksgiving dinner. I think only about 40 of the 60 invited showed up-- a full house for sure. It was so nice to see my cousin from Reno and his beautiful wife and son ( HI, Gabe & Shannon!). I had a great visit! Stephanie was there-- putting on a good show. She looks like she feels good, but I can tell she's a poser. I got to see and talk with several people that I hadn't seen in a long time. My 91 year old Grandma is a-mazing-- she was on her feet all day-- keeping things going.
We then went over to HH's parents and stayed there until last night--
It was a seredipitous occasion to be home-- grateful for my own bed, but really wanting to be in the "vacationing" frame of mind a bit longer.
(I'll post pictures later)
Hope ya'll had a great Thanksgiving week and recognized all that brings forth blessings!

Hey Sista! Sounds like a dreamy time all right. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays to see folks catch up on things and not have to worry about other "stuff" (presents, programs, etc). Mis Celiac done have nice digs eh? The reading sounds dreamy - though I'm still not convinced that I'll invest any time in the twilight factor.
It was SO nice to see you a couple weeks ago!
I'm sooo glad you enjoyed the visit!!
I hope you made yourself at home. It makes me happy to think someone is enjoying my little place if I can't!
Now agave nectar. I love love agave nectar. It doesn't mess with your blood glucose level, and I'm totally freaked out about the diabetes factor with celiac disease.
No plans at present to put a TV in that little house. The quiet is good and I need it. Glad it worked for you too.
What a nice break from the grind. I'm looking forward to mine coming up in a couple of weeks.
I won't be reading Twilight though. Read the first one this summer.... don't even get me started on all the issues I have with that!!
Anyway. So so happy you enjoyed!!
ps. thanks for the privacy thing! It is so easy to google my name and then student would find me, which I totally hate.
(:
Crazy-- Yea Miss Celiac has done good on her digs indeed!
Miss Celiac-- As for the Twilight thing-- I am not impressed with several factors of the book-- but since my almost 13 year old has read them already. I am feeling impressed to read them so that I know what level of indecency my daughter has been exposed to. I went off the recomendation of several other's that thought the book was age appropriate for my daughter. woops...
I am so jealous of your relaxing vacation! Did you get pictures of the wolf track?
Sounds like you guys had a wonderful relaxing long weekend. Good for you !!! The Twilight books, I read the first 2 , have no desire to read any more. I mean it was O.K., but I can not figure out what the big deal is. I will probably go see the movie ( when things slow down, or it hits the $1.00 show, whichever comes first) Anyway, glad you had a nice thanksgiving, and happy you are back.
I start twilight last night. I was only going to read 1 chapter to wind down for bed.... 120 pages later, I had to put it down.
