Lew emailed me yesterday saying we had reservations at 5:30 for dinner but wouldn't tell me where. Truthfully, I hoped so badly it was the Mona Lisa-- and I was right! We had eaten there 4 times before and loved it every time. I love to dine, instead of feeling rushed, knowing someone is waiting for your table. The whole meal takes about 2 hours, so we had great conversation and food. What a great atmosphere, too. I'm so glad he thought of it.
What we ate: (fondue for 2)
Course 1: Salad (I chose the garden salad with Ranch & Lew chose the Spinach Salad with Raspberry Vinagarette)
Appetizer: Cheese Fondue (we had one with Sharp cheddar and Pesto-- Fruit, Veggies and 3 different types of breads)
Main Course: Pork Tenderloin, Fillet Mignon, Lemon Herb Chicken, Teriyaki Beef, Alligator Bratworst, Tiger Shrimp. (We grilled them at our table on a portable grill-- sounds like a lot, but they are two or three bite portions) Also they brought out Veggies to be grilled: Mushrooms, Red Pepper, Zucchini, Red Onion. We dipped in 6 different sauces-- I loved the Wasabi stuff, it was sweet & hot-- I mostly enjoyed it by the spoonful. The Dill was good too.
Dessert: Milk Chocolate Fondue with Strawberries, bananas, apples, cheesecake, brownie, pretzels, macaroons. After you dipped in the chocolate, you could then dip in Coconut and/or chopped peanuts.
Yes, I got fully glutened-- I couldn't hold back. Thank goodness I don't react the same as SarahK, she is having a terrible time getting over being Glutened. I wish her well and hope the migraines and seizures go away soon.
